For the second straight year, Team Canada ran into Team Mexico at the Little League World Series. But this time, the result was different, as the Canadians (made up by the country champs from Whalley) squeezed out a 6-4 win against their talented opponents.

It was the second nail-biter in a row for Canada, as the team topped Spain in a 10-inning thriller on Saturday.

It’ll be no rest for the club either as Canada is scheduled for a date with Puerto Rico tomorrow in hopes of keeping the streak alive.

Last year, Team Canada was downed 6-2 by Mexico, dashing the team from White Rock’s dreams.

This year, Canada is being represented by the Whalley Little League Major Allstars after they ran their way through the Canadian bracket in Mirabel, Quebec, going undefeated and winning four games by the mercy rule.

The tournament is being held, as always, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
