A new residential development has been proposed at the northwest corner of East Broadway and Quebec Street in Vancouver.
The site is currently home to Goldline Motors Inc., a used car dealership.
Eric Law Architect filed an application before the City of Vancouver to redevelop the 7,334-square-foot property, which is a block west of Main Street.
The proposal for 77 East Broadway is a mixed-used building. It will have a restaurant at ground level, and 25 market rental units on the upper floors.
“All the residential units will be registered as secured market rental purpose,” according to the design rationale included in the development application.
The application indicated that the storefront window for the restaurant will wrap around the corner of East Broadway to Quebec Street to “give high commercial exposure”.
“A restaurant patio is proposed facing the lane so as to encourage activity along the lane,” the design rationale stated.
The city will receive comments from the public about the development application until September 21.
