The theft of a huge collection of wigs in Vancouver will unfortunately deprive local children who are fighting cancer of the hairpieces.

After 3:30 a.m. on September 7, Vancouver police were notified about an alarm at Eva and Company Wigs at 950 West Broadway in the Fairview neighbourhood.

Upon arrival, officers found that someone had broken into the store. The suspect had stolen approximately 150 wigs, all of which are made from human hair and are valued at around $2,500 each.

The wigs were intended to be given to cancer patients at B.C. Children's Hospital.

The suspect is described as dark-skinned with curly, long black hair. He was last seen walking away from the store with a large black garbage bag and was wearing a denim or blue jacket.

Anyone with information about these wigs is asked to call VPD property crime investigators at 604-717-0610 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
