Quebec RCMP announced on September 17 that with the help of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), they executed a major drug seizure that may have been heading to other Canadian cities.

The CBSA seized 81 kilograms (179 pounds) of suspected cocaine on a vessel that arrived from Guyana at the Port of Valleyfield, located approximately 48 kilometres (30 miles) west of Montreal.

Four people were arrested, with two of them—36-year-old Roldan De Gorio Tito and 48-year-old Nazir Ahmad Hussain—charged with conspiracy to import drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

The investigation is continuing on and investigators believe the drugs were planned to be routed to Toronto and Vancouver.
