Body found in Richmond home: investigators identify victim in suspicious death

      A man's body found yesterday in a Richmond home has been identified.

      Richmond RCMP responded shortly after 8:30 a.m. on September 20 to a report of a man's body found in an abandoned residence in the 9000-block of Odlin Road.

      As the man's death was considered suspicious, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took over the investigation.

      An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death and the investigation is continuing on.

      IHIT announced today (September 21) that the victim was 37-year-old Michael Thompson of Richmond, who was known to police.

      IHIT Cpl. Frank Jang stated in a news release that it is not yet known if this was a targeted incident.
