Updated: elderly Asian man missing in East Vancouver located

      Update: The Vancouver Police Department announced at 3:52 p.m. on September 23 that Tao Ping Lee had been located and was safe.  

      Vancouver police are seeking the public's help in locating a 69-year-old man with medical issues.

      Tao Ping Lee was last seen at 1 p.m. on Saturday (September 22), according to a VPD news release.

      He left his home and went for a walk near Victoria Drive and East 1st Avenue.

      "He has difficulty speaking and walks with a limp‎ as a result of a previous stroke," the VPD stated. "He was last seen wearing ‎a dark-coloured long coat, ‎dark sweatpants rolled up at the bottom, and ‎dark loafer-style shoes."

      Lee is 5'3", clean shaven, and has short, straight black hair.

      He also needs to take medication.

      Police do not have a photograph of the man.
