B.C.–wide warrant issued for woman missing from Coquitlam mental-health facility

      Police are searching for a woman who has gone missing from a Metro Vancouver psychiatric hospital.

      On September 6, Kara White was reported as an "unauthorized absence" from Cottonwood Lodge, a mental-health facility located in Coquitlam, B.C.

      A province-wide warrant has been issued for her for being unlawfully at large.

      She is described as being 53 years old with dark hair and blue eyes. She is 1.6 metres (five-feet, four-inches) tall and weighs 61 kilograms (135 pounds).

      She was last seen wearing a black and red plaid jacket with red, black, and yellow patterned leggings.

      Coquitlam RCMP stated in a news release that she may be in the eastern part of the Fraser Valley or Chilliwack area.

      RCMP are warning citizens not to approach her if she is spotted but to instead call 911 immediately.

      Anyone who has information of her whereabouts is asked to call Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 (regarding file number 2018-27873).
