Update (5 p.m.): DriveBC has announced that the Stanley Park Causeway has been cleared and reopened. However, delays are expected due to congestion.

With rush hour about to begin, commuters who use the Lions Gate Bridge to travel between Vancouver and the North Shore will need to find an alternate route today (September 28).

A vehicle collision on the Stanley Park Causeway has caused the Lions Gate Bridge to be closed in both directions.

DriveBC announced the closure at 3:43 p.m., adding that heavy delays are expected and the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Crossing is recommended instead.

No estimated time for reopening has been announced yet. However, DriveBC is providing updates on the situation hourly on Twitter
