Surrey RCMP have provided updates on two separate cases of missing people.

On October 22, Surrey RCMP announced that they were seeking to locate a 31-year-old woman named Sheyna McNabb, who was last seen on October 15.

On October 24, RCMP announced that McNabb had been found and is safe without further detail.

On the same day, Surrey RCMP announced that 31-year-old male Jason Benneke from the Yukon, who was reported missing on July 5, was found dead.

He had last been seen on July 5 at the Surrey Public Wharf. He was a member of Yukon's Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation and had moved from Whitehorse to B.C.

On July 5, Benneke had been visiting a friend who lives and works on a barge on the Fraser River. The friend had then taken Benneke back to shore, where Benneke's vehicle was parked.

According to CBC News, the friend returned to the barge that night, but reported Benneke missing the next day when he found Benneke's car was still there without any sign of him.

Surrey RCMP stated in a news release that his death is not believed to be suspicious, the case is being taken over by the B.C. Coroners Service, and no further information is being released at this time.
