A pedestrian has succumbed to injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Delta.

After 7:30 p.m. on October 23, the Delta Police Department (DPD) received a call about a vehicle collision that involved a pedestrian.

A Dodge Ram has been turning northbound out of a parking lot from the Delta side of 120th Street in the 9000-block area when the pedestrian was struck. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.

The 44-year-old male pedestrian from Surrey was taken to hospital with injuries but has since died. His family has been notified of his death.

Delta Police spokesperson Cris Leykauf stated in a news release that it is too early in the investigation to specify the cause of the collision but the DPD is reminding drivers and pedestrians to take precautions at this time of year as weather and lighting conditions change.
