Expect heavy downpours across the south coast of British Columbia until early Friday (November 2) morning.
Environment Canada issued an alert at 7:31 a.m. that forecasts 50 to 80 millimetres over a 24-hour period over the northern part of Metro Vancouver from Maple Ridge to West Vancouver and Howe Sound.
The western Fraser Valley will also experience intense precipitation due to a "subtropical plume of moisture".
"Heavy downpours are likely to cause flash floods and water pooling on roads," the federal agency stated. "Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Landslides may occur in vulnerable areas such as steep slopes."More
