Local police have arrested three Surrey males who have alleged ties to the Lower Mainland gang conflict and drug trade.

On October 29, Surrey RCMP began investigating a report about alleged threats made and the possession of a firearm.

On November 2, RCMP used a search warrant at a Newton-area residence in Surrey where they seized two starter pistols, a BB gun, and an air-soft replica pistol; quantities of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, and crack cocaine; other items related to drug trafficking; and about $4,200 in cash believed to be proceeds from street-level drug sales.

Three men from Surrey were arrested and charged: 18-year-old Sagar Virk, 21-year-old Sandeep Mathroo, and 21-year-old Manjit Bahia.

Virk was charged with two counts of uttering threats and three counts of breaching conditions.

Mathroo and Bahia were each charged with one count of assault with a weapon, one count of use of an imitation firearm while committing assault with a weapon, one count of uttering threats, and one count of mischief.

Mathroo was additionally charged with one count of resisting or obstructing a peace officer.

All three men were taken into custody pending bail hearings.

In other recent drug-related arrests by Surrey RCMP, officers intercepted two suspected drug traffickers associated with dial-a-dope operations on November 1.

Police seized items related to drug trafficking, including quantities of suspected cocaine and heroin, money, cell phone, and two vehicles.

Two adult males, who were not identified, were arrested and released without charges pending further investigation.

Prior to those arrests, Surrey RCMP identified 30-year-old Sumeet Randhawa of Surrey as the victim of a shooting on October 11 that was believed to be a gang-related targeted homicide.
