RCMP apprehend prolific Vancouver offender during break-in at Surrey business

      RCMP have arrested a local repeat offender with several outstanding warrants and conditions as he was attempting to break into a Surrey business.

      Around 12:26 a.m. on November 14, Surrey RCMP received a report about someone attempting to gain access to a locked commercial compound in the 19500 block of the Langley Bypass.

      Upon reaching the location, officers encountered a male suspect who tried to flee from them. However, he was apprehended with the help of police dogs.

      The suspect, who was found possessing several breaking-and-entering tools, allegedly damaged the compound's fence and had also broken into a vehicle at the property.

      After appearing in court on November 14, 47-year-old Douglas Holmes of Vancouver has been charged with one count of possessing breaking-and-entering tools, one count of breaking-and-entering a business, one count of mischief under $5,000, and two counts of breach of probation.
