RCMP have launched an investigation into the death of a man after his body was found under Golden Ears Bridge in Maple Ridge.

After 11:30 a.m. on November 18, Ridge Meadows RCMP were informed about a body located in the 20000 block of Wharf Street in Maple Ridge.

At the scene, officers found the body of an adult male who investigators believe to be the victim of a targeted homicide. RCMP have not identified the victim.

According to several news reports, men wearing Hells Angels insignia had shown up at the scene and interacted with investigators. However, RCMP have not confirmed if the death was related to the Hells Angels or gang activity.

RCMP are working with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) on the investigation, and no further information is being released at this time, according to a Ridge Meadows RCMP news release.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact IHIT or Crime Stoppers.
