      Thanks to a call from a concerned resident, Delta Police intercepted a break-and-enter in progress and recovered a stash of stolen personal property from the Lower Mainland.

      After receiving a call about suspicious individuals in an underground parking lot, Delta police arrived shortly after 9:30 a.m. on November 11 at an apartment building in North Delta, according to a Delta Police Department news release issued today (November 20).

      Officers located and arrested two male suspects in the parking lot, who allegedly possessed a number of stolen items and break-and-enter tools.

      Delta police stated that they were able to recover a "significant amount" of items, including:

      • a Giant brand mountain bike worth $2,500, which was registered with the Garage 529 app and returned to its owner;
      • four other mountain bikes and a child's bike;
      • a laptop;
      • stove heaters and camping equipment.

      Delta and Metro Vancouver police are working together to locate the owners of the property, which is believed to have been stolen from storage lockers.

      The two suspects, who are known to police but have not been identified, have been released, with charges being recommended by Delta Police for Crown consideration.
