Vancouver police say a murder on the city's southeast side is a "top priority".

Today, the VPD identified the victim as 87-year-old Elizabeth Poulin.

On November 24, her body was found inside her apartment near Kingsway and Kerr Street. This came after a 9-1-1 call around 8 a.m. on November 24.

"Based on the information collected so far, investigators do not believe that the public is at risk,” Sgt. Jason Robillard said in a police news release.

Police are hoping to recover dashcam video from the area between midnight and 6 a.m. on November 24.

Poulin is the 15th homicide victim of the year in Vancouver.

Last year, there were 17 homicides in Vancouver.
