Residents of an East Vancouver neighbourhood are on high alert after an unknown man grabbed teenage girl and pulled her into a wooded area.

According to Vancouver police, the man sexually assaulted the 14-year-old in Brewers Park just off Commercial Street.

It occurred around 5 p.m. on November 27 after the teen got off a bus on Kingsway and was walking north on Miller Road.

"We're talking about a 14-year-old girl who did absolutely nothing wrong," Const. Jason Doucette told reporters.

The VPD is hoping that anyone with dashcam video in the area at that time will come forward—particularly if they were driving along Kingsway in the southbound lanes, East 22nd Avenue in the northbound lane, Welwyn Street from the west, or Victoria Drive fom the east.

The suspect is a white male in his late 20s with short brown hair, brown eyes, stubble on his face, and a medium build. He was wearing blue jeans and black boots.
