It took less than two weeks for a man to be taken into custody and charged in connection with the homicide of Elizabeth Poulin.

She's the 87-year-old who was found dead in her apartment on November 24 near the corner of Kingsway and Kerr Street in southeast Vancouver.

This morning, Vancouver police announced that Nicholas Dwayne Wallace, 23, has been charged with second-degree murder.

The Surrey resident remains in custody after being arrested on November 26.

Poulin was the 15th homicide victim of the year in Vancouver.
