Any Vancouver residents hoping to reach Victoria or Nanaimo on the next ferries are out of luck.

That's because B.C. Ferries has cancelled sailings on the following routes: Tsawwassen–Swartz Bay, Tsawwassen–Duke Point, Horseshoe Bay–Departure Bay, Swartz Bay–Tsawwassen, Duke Point–Tsawwassen, Departure Bay–Tsawwassen, Powell River–Comox, and Comox –Powell River.

      It's due to extreme weather.

A major windstorm is about to pound Metro Vancouver today, according to Environment Canada.

B.C. Ferries is still operating routes to the Gulf Islands and between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale on the Sunshine Coast.
