There's been another fatality linked to a donation container for used clothing.

West Vancouver police say that a 34-year-old male could not be resuscitated after he was found this morning caught in the bin at the corner of 13th Street and Bellevue Avenue.

The Vancouver resident's name is being withheld and the cause of death has not been confirmed.

Police say there's no indication of foul play and the coroners service is investigating.

The man's family has been notified.

It's the fourth death in the past four-and-a-half years of a person being stuck in a clothing bin in Metro Vancouver.

The last one occurred in on Vancouver's West Side in July 2018 when a woman was found dead in a bin at the West Point Grey Community Centre.

Many of these containers have been designed to prevent people from inserting their arms to steal clothes. When people try to climb inside, a mechanism can shut the opening, putting their lives in peril.
