Fatal single-vehicle crash in Burnaby may be due to medical incident

      RCMP are investigating the circumstances related to the death of a senior after his car crashed in Burnaby.

      Shortly after 11 a.m. today (January 11), RCMP attended the scene of a single-vehicle collision that took place on Canada Way at Burris Street in Burnaby.

      According to a Burnaby RCMP news release, investigators have found that the 84-year-old driver was heading east on Canada Way when he left the roadway and hit a pole and a parked vehicle.

      Investigators believe he may have had a medical issue just before the accident happened.

      The driver was taken to hospital but later died. His name has not been released.
