Police are seeking help in identifying a male suspect believed to be involved in three groping incidents that took place at separate retail businesses in Surrey over the past few weeks.

According to a Surrey RCMP news release issued today (January 24), around 5 p.m. on December 22, a male suspect entered a store in the 12000 block of 72nd Avenue. He was wearing a dark-coloured baseball hat, a dark hoodie, and dark sweatpants.

When he asked for assistance from a female employee, he touched her lower back and grabbed her buttocks. When he then grabbed her arm and tried to walk with her, she broke free from him and the suspect quickly exited the store.

Several days later, around 2:45 p.m. on December 31, a male suspect entered a store in the 10300 block of 152nd Street. He was wearing a dark-coloured Nike sweatshirt and a light-coloured necklace.

He asked for help from a female employee, and thereupon grabbed her buttocks and touched her groin before leaving the store.

Then around 8:45 p.m. on January 18, a male suspect entered a store in the 7400 block of King George Boulevard. He was wearing a grey sweater and black pants.

After asking a female employee for assistance, he brushed his hand against the employee’s buttocks and then grabbed them before he left the store.

The suspect is described as a South Asian male with chubby cheeks; a medium, chubby build; and a moustache.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or who witnessed these occurrences is asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or, to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
