Two people were arrested in Kingston, Ontario, in what's being called a "national security investigation".

One of those taken into custody is a minor.

More details will be released this morning.

Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale said the RCMP action was "based on credible information".

The Mounties were working with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation.

According to Goodale, Canada's threat level remains at "medium".
