Updated: missing 38-year-old woman last seen in Surrey found dead

Update (February 21): Surrey RCMP announced that the body of Rajwinder Bains was located.

A search is on for a 38-year-old woman who has not been seen for the past two weeks.

Rajwinder Bains was last seen departing from a residence in the 6100 block of 140th Street in Surrey on January 10. She was reported missing to police on January 23.

She may be travelling with another woman in a Honda Civic and may be on her way to Alberta.

According to a Surrey RCMP news release issued today (January 25), it is unusual for her to be out of contact for this length of time.

She is described as a South Asian female who is 152 centimetres (five-feet) tall and weighs 45 kilograms (100 pounds). She has black hair and brown eyes.
