Motorcyclist injures North Vancouver officer in hit-and-run

      A search is on for a motorcyclist involved in a hit-and-run incident on the North Shore on Saturday.

      During the afternoon of February 9, RCMP officers were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 1, west of Westview in North Vancouver.

      Around 2:50 p.m., officers flagged down a black sport motorcycle, which stopped in response. However, the motorcyclist then accelerated and hit an officer, who fell to the ground.

      The motorcycle was last seen heading westbound on Highway 1.

      The officer was taken to Lions Gate Hospital with minor injuries.
