When the snow is falling, it's sometimes difficult for buses and cars to make it up the road to Burnaby Mountain.

So with tonight's deteriorating weather conditions, SFU officials have decided halt evening classes on their largest campus.

"We advise students, faculty and staff to wrap up classes and activities and make your way off Burnaby Mountain," the university announced on its website.

SFU will announce on its website before 6:30 a.m. if its campuses will be open  on Friday (February 15).

Douglas College closed its campuses at 4:30 p.m.

This evening, the Metro Vancouver campuses remain open at UBC, BCIT, Langara College, Capilano University, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and Vancouver Community College.

TransLink said that SkyTrain lines are continuing to operate but various bus routes have been affected by the weather.

More information is available on the TransLink alerts and advisories webpage.

      Update:

SFU and Douglas College have each announced that all of their campuses are open on Friday (February 15).
