A 60-year-old man has died in hospital after suffering "injuries consistent with foul play", according to Surrey RCMP.

Officers were called to a report of an assault around 2:15 p.m. on Sunday (February 17) in the 13300 block of 105 Avenue.

The victim was unconscious on the scene and was taken away by ambulance.

The Mounties say they believe this death is not connected to gang activities and there's no risk to the public.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is overseeing the probe. It's working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP.
