The U.S. and Russia are moving to abandon a nuclear treaty.

Nuclear-armed rivals India and Pakistan are on high alert. North Korea is reportedly rebuilding a rocket site. China has unveiled new missiles that can strike Guam. The world could be stepping toward the brink of a nuclear apocalypse.

Next week, lawyer Andrew Lichterman will deliver a talk about the nuclear threat facing humanity.

Lichterman is with the California-based Western States Legal Foundation, a group that seeks the abolition of nuclear weapons

The free event, titled “The Resurgence of Arms Racing and the Collapse of Nuclear Arms Control”, will be held on Monday (March 18) at UBC’s Green College (6201 Cecil Green Park Road), starting at 5 p.m.
