Three suspects stealing from mailboxes in North Vancouver captured on video
In an effort to identify three suspects, RCMP have released a surveillance video capturing a mail theft that took place in North Vancouver.
Around 4:45 a.m. on February 17, three masked and gloved suspects entered a building lobby at 124 West 1st Street in North Vancouver. The suspects used a pry-bar to force open mailboxes in the lobby before they left in a silver SUV.
"You can tell from the video that they've done this before," Sgt. Peter DeVries stated in a news release. "They're organized, completely disguised, and they work quickly."
Sgt. DeVries is also reminding citizens who may be awake between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. to report any suspicious people, vehicles or activity by calling 911.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
As thieves gather personal information from mail theft to use in identity theft, more information about identity theft is available at the B.C. RCMP website.
