There's another good excuse to hop on a bicycle today.

Not only is the weather more cycling-friendly, but rising fuel prices are making driving more expensive.

Today, regular gasoline prices have reached $1.51.9  per litre at many stations in Metro Vancouver.

That's the highest they've been since November.

According to Gasbuddy.com senior petroleum analyst Dan McTeague, the increase is driven by the temporary closure of two refineries in Washington state for spring maintenance.

On April 1, B.C.'s carbon tax will add another 1.14 cents per litre (plus the GST).

There could be another 1.5 cent per litre increase coming on July 1 to provide more funding for TransLink.
