As an investigation into a Kitsilano shooting continues, the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) have released an image of a vehicle of interest that may be related to the incident.

Just after 8:30 p.m. on April 16, 30-year-old Vancouver resident Manoj Kumar, who is not known to police and doesn't have any obvious connections to crime, was fatally shot as he sat in a car near West 4th Avenue and Burrard Street.

Investigators seized a white Dodge Durango that was found on fire around midnight on the same evening near West 22nd Avenue at Yew Street.

The Durango had an older style of roof rack.

The VPD have released an image of the vehicle from surveillance footage.

Although a direct link between the vehicle and the shooting has not yet been confirmed, investigators believe that there is a connection between the two.

Anyone who may have been driving with dashcam in the Kitsilano and Arbutus areas between 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. is asked to contact Vancouver police or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers.

Kumar's death was the city's fourth homicide of 2019.
