On the same day that a man died after being found in critical condition in Surrey in the afternoon, a stabbing also took place elsewhere in the city later in the evening.

Around 8:07 p.m. on April 23, Surrey RCMP responded to a report about a stabbing that occurred in the 13700 block of 97A Avenue.

At the location, officers found a 32-year-old male who was suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to hospital in serious condition with potentially life-altering injuries.

Investigators have determined thus far that an altercation between two individuals escalated into a stabbing.

According to Surrey RCMP, the two individuals are known to each other and there doesn’t appear to be any risk to the public.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Surrey RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
