The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) has released surveillance video images of a hit-and-run suspect involved in a collision last September in East Vancouver in an attempt to identify the individual.

Prior to 8:30 p.m. on September 8, 2018, a rideshare Evo car and a grey Nissan SUV collided at the intersection of Skeena and East Georgia streets.

The EVO driver briefly got out to check on the injured SUV driver but then drove away from the area.

The 52-year-old Nissan driver received treatment at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

According to a VPD news release, investigators recovered video footage that confirms that the driver of the Evo was not the registered Evo client for the vehicle.

“Regardless of who’s at fault in a collision, drivers are required by law to exchange information,” VPD Cst. Jason Doucette stated in a news release. "Not only did that not happen here, but the driver of the Evo got back into his car and simply left."

Anyone with information about the male suspect is asked to contact the VPD Hit and Run Unit at 604-717-9360 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
