After two vehicles made disastrous attempts to flee police, Surrey RCMP have arrested two men and seized weapons.

Prior to 1 a.m. on May 6, officers who were investigating an unrelated case at a housing complex in the 13800 block of 100 Avenue in Surrey observed two suspicious vehicles at that location.

As the police drove toward the complex, the two vehicles—a Chevy Colorado and a Honda Accord—fled the area.

The Honda Accord tried to drive through a gate of the townhouse complex but became stuck.

Meanwhile, the Chevy Colorado tried to escape at a high rate of speed but collided with a police car.

Two men from the Honda were arrested while a third person fled the scene and has not been located.

Officers seized a collapsible semi-automatic pistol carbine firearm, a hunting knife, and latex gloves from the Honda and the Chevy Colorado was also seized.

Ryan Molner, a 38-year-old man from Surrey, is facing 10 charges, including failure to stop for police, dangerous driving, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The second male is in custody on unrelated warrants but has not been charged with this case thus far.

Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact Surrey RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
