Update: The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) announced on May 24 that the two male suspects have been identified as 25-year-old Duncan McCaffery Fowler and 23-year-old Coleton Reid Szalay, both from Richmond. Both have been charged with robbery. Fowler was arrested on May 23 while a Canada-wide warrant was issued for Szalay.
The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) released photos and video footage today (May 16) in an effort to identify two male suspects who were allegedly involved in the robbery of a male senior in East Vancouver two weeks ago.
Investigators believe that the two men were near Commercial Drive and North Grandview Highway around 4 p.m. on April 28.
According a VPD news release, the male suspects allegedly followed a 77-year-old man into a payday loan store about three blocks north of the Commercial-Broadway SkyTrain Station and observed him as he received several hundred dollars in cash.
The two suspects allegedly followed the senior into a grocery store where they pretended to be shopping until he left the store. After he left, the suspects knocked the senior to the ground, and ran away with the victim’s wallet, cash, and identification.
The victim sustained injuries that were non-life-threatening.
