Vancouver police investigate several unprovoked assaults near Waterfront Station

      A man has been arrested for randomly punching people near the busiest transit station in Metro Vancouver.

      According to Vancouver police, at least five people were assaulted close to Waterfront Station before 8:30 p.m. on May 28.

      One of the victims, a 37-year-old Burnaby man, was sent to hospital; four others were treated at the scene with minor injuries.

      Investigators believe there may be other victims and have put out a request for them to come forward.

      The alleged assailant is in custody, thanks to the help of people who were in the area at the time.

      Stuart Schneider, a 32-year-old Vancouver resident, faces three charges of assault, one charge of assault causing bodily harm, and one charge of robbery.
