Pedestrian killed in evening crash in Burnaby after fatal eight-car collision in same city earlier in the day

      Friday (June 7) was a tragic day on the roads in B.C.'s third-largest city.

      Last night, a pedestrian was killed after several vehicles crashed along the Lougheed Highway.

      It occurred between Madison and Gilmore avenues.

      Several hours earlier, up to eight vehicles were involved in a collison near Kingsway and Nelson Avenue in the Metrotown area.

      One person was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Burnaby RCMP.

      The Mounties are asking anyone with dash-cam video of either crash to contact the traffic services squad at 604-646-9999.
