Delta man arrested for threatening and assaulting youth in Tsawwassen

      A Metro Vancouver man has been arrested and charged after he threatened and assaulted youths in Tsawwassen during a robbery attempt.

      After 1 a.m. on June 2, a man approached six youths who were walking near 1st Avenue and English Bluff Road in Tsawwassen.

      The man, who the youths did not know, threatened to shoot them if they didn’t hand over their valuables.

      When one youth said he wasn’t carrying a wallet, the man punched him in the face.

      The youths fled and called 911 to report the robbery.

      Within minutes, police arrived and located the youths.

      A Tsawwassen resident contacted the Delta Police Department to provide video footage of a suspicious male.

      Shortly afterward, 32-year-old Katlin James Richardson of Delta was arrested and remains in custody. He faces three counts of robbery, one count of uttering threats to cause bodily harm, and one count of assault.

      He was scheduled to appear in court today (June 14).
