It's amazing that nobody was injured.

On Friday evening at around 6:42 p.m., the RCMP received word that a small plane landed on Highway 17—also known as South Fraser Perimeter Road—in Surrey.

The two-seat Cessna 152 touched down near Tannery Road after encountering difficulties.

Motorists were shocked to see it off to the side of the road on the way to their destination.

CBC News has reported that a student pilot and an instructor were onboard.

Transportation Safety Board officials are conducting an investigation.
