Surrey RCMP are investigating a shooting that took place in Surrey involving an agitated man and Langley RCMP.

Around 2:30 p.m. on July 3, Langley RCMP responded to reports about a woman injured at a residence in the 20100 block of 68th Avenue in Langley.

The investigation then led RCMP to a residence in the 19300 block of 72A Avenue in Surrey.

At the Surrey residence, Langley RCMP encountered a distressed man.

When the male suspect allegedly produced a weapon, an RCMP officer responded by firing his service firearm.

However, no one was injured in the shooting.

The man was apprehended under the B.C. Mental Health Act and taken to hospital.

Surrey RCMP have launched an investigation into the discharge of the RCMP firearm while Langley RCMP are investigating the call for service that was from Langley. No other details are being released at this time.
