An extensive cache of stolen items, worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, was discovered after police searched a property in the Fraser Valley.

The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) announced today (July 10) that officers spotted a stolen flat-deck truck that was transporting an excavator to a residential property in the 1200 block of Columbia Road in Abbotsford.

When officers used a search warrant at the property, they discovered and seized over $300,000 worth of stolen property.

Large items included excavating equipment, commercial tractor trailer units, dump truck, bobcats, trucks, trailers, jet skis, and other vehicles.

Officers also seized illegal drugs—including suspected heroin, cocaine, and over 100 grams of methamphetamine—as well as five firearms found in a stolen camper trailer.

APD officers arrested a 45-year-old man for possession of stolen property, and he has since been released. His name has not been released as charges have not been laid yet.

The investigation remains ongoing and additional information will be forthcoming. Police are attempting to return the recovered stolen property to their original owners.
