After two vehicles were found on fire early this morning in Port Coquitlam, investigators are searching for a vehicle and suspects witnessed leaving the scene.

At 3:30 a.m. on July 11, Coquitlam RCMP and the Coquitlam Fire Department responded to a report of two vehicles on fire in the 1000 block of Riverside Drive in Port Coquitlam.

Witnesses and videos suggest that the fires were started by thieves who were trying to steal catalytic converters.

Investigators are searching for a dark, older-model sedan that had been seen driving away from the scene with four males inside.

One of the suspects is described as a tall, lanky male with a grey hoodie and a headlamp.

Coquitlam RCMP stated in a news release that they will also be looking into whether this case is related to any other catalytic converter thefts.

Anyone with information about this incident should contact Coquitlam RCMP.
