Distraught man dies in fall after tossing TVs and bikes from apartment window in Vancouver's West End

      The Independent Investigations Office is looking into the death of a man who fell to the ground from a high-rise on Bidwell Street.

      According to Vancouver police, prior to his death the man was distraught and was throwing items, including television sets and bicycles, from a ninth-storey window.

      Police were called just after noon today and were in the building when the man died.

      His name has not been released.

      The IIO has issued a statement saying that the coroner is also conducting an investigation.
