After a few months of investigation into the death of a man in Surrey, one man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Around 2:15 p.m. on February 17, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of an assault at a residence in the 13300 block of 105th Avenue.

Officers who arrived at the location found an unconscious 68-year-old male, Tee Bor, with serious injuries.

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Surrey RCMP had stated in a February news release at the time that Bor has sustained "injuries consistent with foul play", that his death was believed not to be linked to gang activity, and that there wasn’t a risk to the public.

As his death was deemed a homicide, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took over the case.

After an investigation, on July 12, officers arrested 26-year-old Pee Lee Pi of Surrey, who has been charged with the second-degree murder of Bor.

Pi will appear in provincial court on July 15.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-4448 or by email, or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
