After police surrounded a home in Delta, one man has been arrested and charged.

On July 11, Delta police attended a residence to arrest a male. After prolonged negotiations, the officers were unsuccessful in their attempt to arrest him.

The Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team was called in and surrounded the home after the male barricaded himself inside.

No shots were fired during the incident and there weren't any injuries.

Officers, using a search warrant, seized an unspecified number of weapons inside the home, including a rifle.

Today (July 16), the Delta Police Department stated in a news release that a 52-year-old man from Delta, Troy Kevin Reimer, was arrested and charged with one count of uttering or conveying a threat to cause death or bodily harm.

He has since been released on conditions regarding the safety of the individuals involved in the original call to police.
