Two male teens from Port Coquitlam arrested for 11 fires at Little Libraries in Metro Vancouver

      Two teenagers have been arrested after numerous book exchanges were set on fire in the Coquitlam area.

      A series of 11 fires were set at community book exchange boxes, known as Little Libraries, from March 20 to May 18 in Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam.

      After an investigation was conducted that included surveillance, search orders, and a tip from the public, Coquitlam RCMP announced today (July 17) that a 17-year-old male and a 19-year-old male, both from Port Coquitlam, have been arrested and have been released on a promise to appear in court on October 10.

      Each suspect faces a charge of arson causing damage to property.

      As the investigation is continuing on, more charges may be laid.
