A male truck driver is in critical condition after his truck veered off-road into water in South Surrey.

Around 4:53 p.m. on July 22, Surrey emergency services responded to a single-vehicle roll-over collision in the eastbound lane of 40th Avenue near 160th Street.

The driver of a Dodge 3500 pickup truck swerved to avoid a collision with the vehicle in front of him, which had slowed down.

The truck went into a ditch and became partially submerged in water, and the driver became trapped.

Surrey RCMP, Surrey Fire Service, and the B.C., Ambulance Service were at the scene and rescued the driver from the truck. He was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Anyone who witnessed or has video of this collision is asked to contact Surrey RCMP.
