Local police have launched investigations into two separate shooting incidents, one that took place in the Whalley area of Surrey and another in New Westminster.

Around 4 p.m. on July 19, Surrey RCMP received a report of gunfire in the 12700 block of King George Boulevard.

Officers found evidence of shots fired.

According to initial reports, a white-coloured car was seen leaving the area at high speed.

Investigators are speaking with witnesses and believe that it was a targeted incident.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to contact Surrey RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

This shooting is separate from another shooting that took place in Surrey on the same day around 7:03 p.m. near Mud Bay Park off Colebrook Road. That shooting resulted in two people receiving treatment at hospitals in Surrey and Langley.

Meanwhile, a different shooting took place in New Westminster on Monday.

Around 4:40 p.m. on July 22, New Westminster Police received a report of a possible shooting near 9th Street and St. Andrews Street.

Upon arrival, officers located several people but none had any injuries.

Investigators are speaking with involved parties and witnesses.

Anyone with information or video footage is asked to call the New Westminster Police Department.

No connection between any of the shootings have been stated or implied.
