Richmond suspect arrested: 42-year-old man dies from stabbing on bus

      A Richmond man has died after a stabbing took place on a bus in Metro Vancouver.

      Around 2 p.m. on July 23, RCMP received several calls about a fight that developed between two passengers who were on board a Coast Mountain bus near No. 3 Road and Cambie Road in Richmond.

      Officers arrived at the scene to find a 42-year-old man suffering from serious stab wounds. He was taken to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

      Police arrested a 22-year-old resident of Richmond who was taken into custody.

      Richmond RCMP are not releasing the identities of either involved individuals.

      The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is working with Richmond RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services, and the B.C. Coroners Services in gathering evidence.

      Investigators believe the incident began as a random argument between the two men before it escalated into a physical assault.

      Police are seeking to speak with passengers who were on the bus at the time but left after the incident took place.
