Seattle resident Matt Reynolds won't soon forget the sight of an out-of-control man jumping on the hood and roof of his new Tesla, and smashing the front windshield.

It came during Thursday afternoon rush-hour in downtown Seattle near the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Spring Street.

Reynolds took video of the man jumping on another vehicle, ripping off the sunroof, and then attacking a Seattle parking attendant.

"It was like he was on a mission—like something might have been chasing him or he was going somewhere," Reynolds told King 5 News. "The second the cop interacted with him, everything changed."

A group of strangers came together to help the officer wrestle the man to the ground, but not until after he had damaged several vehicles.

Reynolds told King 5 that repairing his car will cost about $10,000.

Global B.C. News has reported that a West Vancouver resident, Alexander Ormiston, has been charged with two counts of assault and faces one charge of malicious mischief. He remains in custody.
